FOR - Series Summary
FOR is a five-part series that focuses on embodying the compassionate, inclusive, and service-oriented heart of Jesus. This series calls believers to be "FOR" their Church, their Community, and their State, actively engaging in compassion, inclusion, invitation, and commitment. Each week encourages believers to live out their faith in ways that illuminate God’s love, inviting all people into His grace and truth through both words and actions.
Weekly Themes and Key Messages
1. The Way of Compassion
Grounded in Luke 10:25-37, this message centers on Jesus' call to "go and do likewise" as He modeled compassion through the parable of the Good Samaritan. Believers are encouraged to embody a compassionate lifestyle, stepping into the needs of others with empathy and care. Additional passages like Colossians 3:12 and Philippians 2:3 support the idea of clothing ourselves in compassion and valuing others above ourselves.
2. The Way of Illumination
In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus calls believers to be the light of the world, shining through good works to reflect God’s glory in a darkened world. This message emphasizes that through compassionate actions and family-friendly community projects, the congregation can be a tangible light in their communities, embodying God’s character and showing His love.
3. The Way of Inclusion
Based on Luke 14:12-14, this message addresses Jesus' radical approach to inclusion, where He welcomed those society often marginalized. Believers are encouraged to follow Jesus’ example by breaking down barriers and extending God’s grace to all people. Supporting scriptures like James 2:1-4 and Acts 10:34 challenge the church to live out a culture of acceptance, making all people feel welcomed and valued.
4. The Way of Invitation
In Luke 14:15-24, Jesus' parable of the banquet highlights God’s open invitation for everyone to join His kingdom. Believers are reminded of their role as messengers, sharing the gospel so that others may experience God’s love and hospitality. This message calls the church to invite others with urgency and love, inspired by scriptures like Romans 10:13-15 and John 3:17.
5. The Way of Commitment
Closing the series with Jeremiah 29:7, this message focuses on the call to pray and work for the welfare of our cities, living out commitment through sacrificial service. This includes dedicating time, talents, and resources to make a positive impact in the community, aligning with Jesus’ vision for His followers to be a blessing where they live, work, and serve. Supporting verses from Hebrews 10:24-25 and Isaiah 58:10 reinforce the call to a life of committed service to others.
Key Goals:
- Inspire the congregation to adopt a compassionate, service-driven lifestyle that mirrors Jesus’ love for others.
- Encourage believers to shine as a light through acts of kindness, showing the world God’s love and grace.
- Challenge the church to break down barriers and include those on the margins, fostering a community of welcome and belonging.
- Equip believers with a sense of urgency to share the gospel, inviting others into a relationship with Christ.
- Reinforce a commitment to serve and pray for the community, embodying Christ’s presence and peace where they live, work, and play.
This series ultimately invites the congregation to actively live "FOR" others, showcasing God's love through compassion, service, inclusion, and a commitment to the common good.
Series Description:
Walk the crowd at any concert or sporting event and there is no doubt who people are showing up to support. From band t-shirts, to jerseys, to painted faces; people's allegiance and passion is on full display. But even without the overt signs, we can still tell what people are passionate about by looking at how they spend their time, talent, and treasure. Where we each choose to invest our attention and resources tells so much about what we care most about. In our new series, FOR, we will look at what Jesus stood FOR, dive into what we are FOR, and how we can be FOR the things that Jesus was and model our lives after his own way.

Week 2 - The Way of Illumination
Ever thought about what it means to really shine in a world that sometimes feels dark? This week, we're taking cues from Jesus’ words: "You are the light of the world." Just like Thomas Edison kept searching for the perfect light bulb, we’re called to be light-bringers wherever we are—at home, in our neighborhoods, at work, and beyond. Through our good deeds, we show God’s love in real ways that others can see and feel. So whether it's through kindness, generosity, or simply showing up for others, we’re here to be a bright reminder of God’s love. Let’s plug into our power source, step out, and shine a little brighter this week!

Week 3 - The Way of Inclusion
Ever feel like you’re on the outside looking in? Jesus gets it, and in Luke 14, he challenges us to expand our circles and truly welcome everyone. This week, we're diving into "The Way of Inclusion," where Jesus calls us to invite, include, and make space for those who might feel left out. Church is meant to be a place where everyone feels welcome—no matter their past, beliefs, or backgrounds. By creating an inclusive, open-hearted community, we can reflect God’s love in ways that make a lasting impact. Join us as we explore how being “FOR” inclusion means inviting others to belong, just as Jesus did.
